Calories Burned Calculator
Estimate activity energy expenditure from bodyweight, duration, and a locally stored MET value. Results update as you change an input.
How calories burned are estimated
The estimate multiplies MET × bodyweight in kilograms × duration in hours.
What is a MET?
One metabolic equivalent approximates resting energy expenditure. An activity rated 6 METs is modeled at roughly six times resting energy expenditure.
Strength training calorie burn
Strength-training intensity varies with exercise choice, load, rest periods, and session density, so light/moderate and vigorous options are separate.
Cardio calorie burn
Speed, resistance, grade, technique, and conditions change cardio intensity. Select the closest listed activity or enter a defensible custom MET.
Why watches and calculators disagree
Fitness, movement efficiency, sensor data, age, sex, environment, and equipment algorithms differ. Both watches and MET calculators provide estimates rather than direct calorimetry.
