Method and limitations

The race starts with a run interval and alternates running and walking. For the finite target time, count complete cycles and the remaining run/walk portions. Required running speed = (target distance − walking distance) / total running time. This explicitly handles races ending partway through a run or walk.

The familiar complete-cycle equation is runSeconds / ((runSeconds + walkSeconds) / targetPace − walkSeconds / walkingPace), with paces in seconds/km. It is not substituted for the finite-race calculation. A target with no positive running distance/time is rejected. This is a pacing plan, not an ability prediction.

Internal calculations retain full precision; only displayed results are rounded. Empty inputs are not treated as zero. General software limits are 1,000 km, seven days and at most 500 split rows; model-specific limits are stated above. These are responsiveness limits, not validated athletic ranges.

Distance/time conversions use the exact international mile (1609.344 m). Run/walk, interval, split and track results are arithmetic pacing plans, not independently validated ability predictions.
