Method and limitations
Race VDOT uses the Daniels/Gilbert equations. Threshold oxygen demand is approximated as 88% of VDOT, then velocity is solved from the positive root of the oxygen-cost quadratic. This is an estimated training pace, not a blood-lactate measurement or universal physiological constant.
