Direct Lift Ratios

Using reference relationships

Reference targets are general coaching guidelines, not performance requirements. Technique, experience, anthropometry, leverage, training history, and individual strengths all affect these relationships; ratios cannot diagnose technique, mobility, or injury.

The Clean reference is derived from the sourced guideline that back squat is roughly 125–135% of Clean, producing a Clean range of about 74–80% of back squat. Catalyst also describes Snatch as roughly 78–83% of Clean & Jerk; that direct relationship is calculated when both actual lifts are entered. Unsupported back-squat targets are intentionally omitted.
